Learn About the Newark Park Equity Project

This website is the product of the Newark Park Equity Project, a project led by Trust for Public Land (TPL) and United Parks As One (UPAO), with the support of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

TPL and UPAO have worked collaboratively with Newark residents over the years and have seen firsthand how parks, playgrounds, and community gardens strengthen neighborhoods, provide opportunities for people to connect with another, and support environmental resilience.

The Newark Park Equity Project was launched with the goal of of supporting long-term community-driven park stewardship to bring the benefits of green space to all Newarkers. The project envisions close-to-home access to high quality parks, playgrounds, or green spaces for all Newarkers.

The website was created in response to Newark residents' need for a dedicated hub to learn about the city's public parks and green spaces.
